Real Madrid's angels step into hell

Abattle of 11 men against an army of 70,000 will take place on Tuesday night as Real Madrid seek safe passage to their quarter-finals of the Champions League via the furnace that is the Stadio San Paolo.

Six hours before kick-off, the gates will swing open at the home of Napoli as the home fans attempt to whip up a storm, and it is one of revenge given Los Blancos' victory in the competition on their last visit, some 30 years ago.

After all, this concept of vibrant atmosphere is all that the Neapolitans have to cling to when considering the tie as a whole.

Maurizio Sarri's men simply must give their visitors an early scare on the night to have any genuine hope of overturning their 3-1 defeat in Madrid, although they don't want for positive energy and take heart from the manner of Lorenzo Insigne's opener back at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

However, Real are built for these big occasions. With BBC back up front and the motivation of defending their Champions League crown, Zinedine Zidane's side are not simply attempting to qualify against Napoli but to beat them once again.

Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo will therefore return to the attack to line up alongside a reinvigorated Karim Benzema to press home Madrid's advantage, completing the same starting XI that lifted this very trophy in Milan last year.
